March 13th- 3:00 - 4:30 pmPassport Series: Rabab Making

The Rabab is an instrument that not only accompanies other instruments in musical performances, but plays an equally important role as a companion to an oral tradition-storytelling. The one-stringed poet’s rabab is usually played after a line of poetry, echoing the chant of the poet’s voice. The two-stringed rabab is more commonly used for music alone. Bring your young poets, musicians, and creators to ExplorationWorks to create their own version of this Middle Eastern instrument. Rabab making is geared toward ages 6 to 106. The class is free with paid admission or membership.
March 30th - 1:00 pmFlower Making for the First Day of Spring
Come and celebrate the first day of Spring at ExplorationWorks by making beautiful flower creations. Creators of all ages can make various flower designs to brighten up their spring. All ages are welcome to come create flowers. The activity is free with paid admission or membership, from 1:00 to 4:00.
Watch for many more Saturday specials where we will explore instrument making, listen to musicians, learn some basic dance moves, and explore more Middle Eastern art etc.
