Bright Start
Science @ Home Activities
Science is all around us—in the kitchen, in the backyard, and in the questions children ask every day. This book is designed to turn that natural curiosity into hands-on discovery, giving children and their grown-ups the chance to explore, experiment, and learn together.
Each activity is designed to be simple, engaging, and accessible, using everyday materials whenever possible. Before starting an experiment, take a moment to read through the activity together. You’ll find a list of materials, step-by-step instructions, and a brief explanation of the science behind what you’re doing.
Encourage your young scientist to take the lead whenever possible—ask them what they think will happen and let them experiment with their own ideas. Don’t worry if things don’t go exactly as planned; those moments often lead to the best learning experiences!
Most importantly, have fun with it. Feel free to adapt activities, repeat favorites, or expand on ideas that spark extra curiosity. This book is not just a collection of experiments—it’s a starting point for a lifelong love of learning and discovery.
